About Second Star
Second Star to the Right is a Children’s and Young Adult book and toy store located in Denver. We offer a wide variety of the newest releases, and even your own childhood favorites in board books all the way to young adult novels. Adult books, parenting and a selection of books in Spanish are among our other book offerings. We are Colorado proud and carry a selection of parenting, and gift items local to Colorado companies.
In addition to our wide selection of books, we also offer a fun assortment of toys that kids and adults alike can enjoy. Our selection includes educational and sustainable toys, and dress up items that inspire imaginative play.
Owned and operated by former teachers, all of Second Star’s staff members are knowledgeable about the many titles in the store and are happy to recommend the perfect book or gift for the lucky reader in your life. We pride ourselves on assisting our customers and welcome any ideas or suggestions you may have to better address your needs. In this digital world, we hope to help keep children with their arms around books and ears listening to the magic of stories.
Our bookstore seeks to embrace the entire Colorado community of readers, dreamers and believers and will hopefully become a part of your everyday life. I was an elementary school teacher for twelve years, but am now happily sharing my love for books with the community. I have four adult children of my own, and 1 grandchild whom you may see in and out of the store.

I am passionate about reading! I believe that there aren’t any kids who don’t like to read, but only kids who haven’t been introduced to the kinds of books that speak to them! I am eager to help with that journey of exploration.
